Have You or Your Child Ever Experienced These Things?
- Eating large amounts of food in a short period of time, much more than most people would eat in the same situation
- Feeling out of control while eating, like you can’t stop even when you want to
- Eating very quickly during these episodes
- Eating until you feel uncomfortably full
- Eating large amounts even when not physically hungry
- Eating alone because you feel embarrassed about how much you’re eating
- Feeling disgusted, depressed, or very guilty after eating
- These eating episodes happen regularly (at least once a week for several months)
If you or your child has experienced several of these signs, you may be dealing with binge eating disorder. This is a real medical condition, and effective help is available. You don’t have to struggle with this alone.
